Soft Skills Training for Success

Soft skills relate to a person’s ability to interact effectively with co-workers and customers and are broadly applicable both in and outside the workplace.They can make the difference between getting a job or not when both candidates have the same qualifications and skill set to perform the required tasks. In business they are called ‘key competencies.’ “ If you are a cheerful, fragrant, empathetic people-person you are likely to impress.”

Nigel has the ability to crystallize the felt experience into succinct sentences which enable clients to learn and embody the skill. One aspect of good communication is the ability to listen. In today’s ‘rush society’ some people try to think ahead and don’t listen fully or appear to be listening. Others can tell that the listener’s mind is elsewhere. Nigel calls listening with full attention ‘holding space.’

Holding space: being totally present in the moment with all of the senses, while giving attention to the person communicating, i.e. while listening to the speaker a man / woman listens with his whole sense of awareness and all his senses.

Training is given in the ability to focus the awareness, being present in the moment and then to listen with all the senses. This can be followed up with memory recall and accuracy training as required.

Some people are emotionally sensitive due to high empathy skills. This can make work difficult as the individual easily picks up and senses other people’s negative emotions in the workplace. Nigel gives training to individuals to allow them to cope and then adapt, thus allowing a better experience of work and other areas of life.
