From Student to Affiliate: My ACCA Journey with Synthesis Learning

I’m Bushra Khatib, I’m here to share my story of going from being a clueless 12th grader to a confident ACCA affiliate, thanks to Synthesis Learning.

I needed guidance when it came to choosing a career path in commerce while I was pursuing graduation from Hinduja College. Then, I saw an ad on a bus about ACCA, a global qualification. Two things immediately caught my eye: the 50% pass rate and the global reach. This aligned perfectly with my desire to work abroad.

However, I was not sure at the beginning because my parents & professors were not aware of ACCA qualification. They needed to be more familiar with ACCA, and I was hesitant to pursue something unknown. That’s when I reached out to Synthesis Learning.

The Counsellor at Synthesis Learning gave me a comprehensive tour of the ACCA course, from the 13 papers to the different levels (knowledge, skills, and professional). What impressed me most was the practical approach. The computer-based exams and MCQ format were refreshing from the old-school pen-and-paper exams.

The next three months were intense. I had weekly chapter-wise tests and mock exams, which helped me build confidence before the real exams. It was challenging, especially when there were festivals, family functions, and even my sister’s wedding! But I persevered, locking myself in my room and focusing on my studies. It was not at all easy, but in the end, it was all worth it.

My professors were incredibly supportive. Synthesis Learning has an expert tutor for each paper. They made the syllabus fun and engaging, and their hard work greatly impacted my success. They solved all my doubts whenever I needed them; I could just call or WhatsApp them.

Today, I’m proud to say that I work as an operations executive in the accounts payable team! This is a huge career jump for me, thanks to my ACCA qualification.

My journey with ACCA and Synthesis Learning has helped me achieve my career goals and given me the confidence to stand out in my organization. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work in a global environment and excited to see what the future holds.
